Prerequisite coursework:
A minimum of eighteen (18) credits of studio art course work that demonstrates a level of understanding of various art materials. Equivalency of non-academic art experience or art therapy coursework may be substituted for academic coursework with the approval of the director of the art therapy program.
A minimum of twelve (12) credits of study in psychology, including developmental and abnormal psychology with a minimum of a C letter grade.
A 500 - 750-word personal essay describing: the focus of your artwork; how you came to choose art therapy as your field of graduate study; your future goals as an art therapist; and how you believe the MAAT program at Cedar Crest College will help you accomplish those goals
Two letters of recommendation
A current resume
A portfolio of 12 - 16 works of art including examples of painting, human figure drawing, and clay work that demonstrates personal expression as well as technical skills in a range of media and subject matter
For international students, official scores for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) must be submitted
