Finding Journals

Find Journals and Journal Articles

  • Cressman Library has access to many databases with the indexing, abstracts, and full text of articles.
  • Databases include those listed at A-Z Databases.
  • Basic searches are typically by keyword or phrases. Advanced searches, may be Boolean (and/or/not), by keyword, author, title, and subject, along with limits by year.
  • For citations, there will be a record of the author, title of article, name of journal, date, volume number, and page numbers.

Find a Journal
  • Search WorldCat Discovery for the title of the journal. Select "Advanced Search" and "Format" Journal/Magazine.
  • Type the name of the journal in the "Title" box, click on "Search." Click on the journal title for holdings information. See also: WorldCat Discovery A-to-Z Titles

Get the Article

  • If the library has access to the volume and issue of the journal the article is in, then, download the HTML or PDF of the article online. Follow Full Text Finder, Full Text @ Cedar Crest, FindIt@CedarCrest links, as indicated.
  • When the library has access in print only, then locate it on the Terrace Level. If in microform, then locate it on the Intermediate Level.
  • If another library in the Lehigh Valley (LVAIC) subscribes to the journal, go to the library or place a request via WorldCat Discovery. Search for the article, go to the detailed view and "Request Item through Interlibrary Loan."
  • If a Worldwide Library subscribes to the journal as found in WorldCat Discovery, then search for the article, go to the detailed view and "Request Item through Interlibrary Loan."
