In accordance with the Mission
and Goals of the Department of Student Affairs, The Health and Counseling Office
will:
Maintain a safe Campus
community
- Inform appropriate
persons when students pose a danger to themselves and/or others
- Collaborate with
Campus security to assure safety of Campus community
- Provide for safety
of students when being seen in Health and Counseling Services
Promote physical, emotional,
mental, social, and spiritual well-being of students
- Coordinate physician,
nursing, and counseling services
- Plan for provision
of emergency health services
- Provide full range
of health services to students as needed
- Assist students
in coordinating appointments and transportation to appointments
- Assess health
needs of student population and develop appropriate programs to meet
needs
- Collaborate with
students, faculty, and staff in providing health education that addresses
specific needs of campus community
- Plan and implement
programs to assist students in developing healthy life styles
Foster a climate of
respect and integrity within the Campus community
- Promote respectful
interaction of students and staff in Health and Counseling Services
- Collaborate with
Residence Hall Staff to develop programs addressing issues of Diversity
Foster leadership opportunities
for students
- Assist students
in assuming responsibility and accountability for personal health
Encourage involvement
in community service by members of the campus community
- Promote involvement
in community service that helps the student to maintain a healthy
life style
Facilitate transition
from college to graduate school and/or career
- Assist students
to recognize the importance of maintaining healthy lifestyles
