Field Work Opportunities

In addition to regular classroom instruction, many of our courses incorporate trips to Hindu and Buddhist temples or mosques so students may gain a better understanding of each religion’s principles and practices. Students have the opportunities to participate in many activities such as Buddhist meditation instruction and visit Tibetan and Chinese Buddhist temples in the area.

We also encourage students to travel abroad during their undergraduate education. Fully immersing yourself in a culture is one of the best ways to truly understand and appreciate it, which is why Cedar Crest offers trips to both India and Egypt throughout the academic year. Many of these trips are led by our faculty, who integrate classroom lessons with activities experienced abroad. This allows students to develop an even deeper understanding of the country’s culture and the influence that religion has on that culture.
