By studying the interdisciplinary field of Political Science at Cedar Crest College, you will prepare yourself well for a wide array of exciting, vital and valuable careers—any of which will enable you to reach your fullest potential and to help shape the course of the future. Studying Political Science will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed.
As a Political Science student at Cedar Crest College, you will develop the skills necessary to be a leader in an increasingly globalized world - critical thinking, problem solving, and oral and written communication. The Political Science program is highly interdisciplinary. Students are exposed to diverse academic perspectives, which allows them to analyze issues from multiple viewpoints. In addition to a strong core of Political Science course offerings, students will also take classes in:
Political Science majors focus on one of three concentrations: American Politics, Global Politics or Law & Society. Upon graduation, students will have a firm, multidisciplinary foundation and have a course of study tailored to their interests and passions.
Cedar Crest also offers a Pre-Law minor that prepares students to apply for law school. Students gain an understanding of the fundamentals of law and justice and have opportunities to practice legal research and writing. In addition, the minor provides support during the law school admission process.

Students minoring in Political Psychology will take a series of classes bridging the social sciences and humanities. Students will graduate with a deeper understanding of the ways behavior and decision-making underlie politics and policy. Students minoring in Political Psychology will be well positioned to work in political communications, lobbying, and campaigns, among other occupations.
