Heather Thomas

Please join us for a poetry reading with Cedar Crest faculty member Heather Thomas on Thursday, April 6th at 7 - 8pm in the Little Theatre, Alumnae Hall.

Heather H. Thomas is the author of Vortex Street, forthcoming from FutureCycle Press, and three other full-length poetry collections. Alice Notley called Heather’s book Blue Ruby “a beauty, composed by a fearlessly compassionate intelligence.”

The Salem College Center for Women Writers, the Gertrude Stein Awards in Innovative American Poetry, and the Academy of American Poets have recognized Heather’s work. Her poems are translated and published in Arabic, Italian, Lithuanian, and Spanish. She has read recently in Egypt, Israel, Sweden, Lithuania, Bosnia, Los Angeles, and New York.

Heather’s new work appears in Canadian Woman Studies; Mizna: Prose, Poetry and Art Exploring Arab America; Barrow Street; and Excavating Honesty: An Anthology of Rage and Hope in America. Dr. Thomas is a Professor Emerita of Kutztown University where she taught creative writing and modern American poetry. While she now has more time to write, she also enjoys teaching at Cedar Crest College.

We hope to see you there!
